Members started arriving early to Maggiano's exclusive banquet room, greeting fellow CCO'ers and enjoying a selection of beverages served by a very competent staff. Appetizers were enjoyed as we milled about socializing. Rich Craig documented the evening beginning-to-end with his new Canon! Soon, Mike greeted all seventy in attendance with opening remarks and asked his wife Debbie to give the benediction, with a special and very touching moment of remembrance and reflection for the families in Connecticut. Then, Mike introduced a special video featuring our
VP and general nice-guy Don Ianitelli. Bruce Kollmann custom built this hilarious compilation of images we've gathered over the years with Star Wars style flowing text and voiceover that had the entire room laughing uncontrollably. Don seemed pleased and thankful!?!
Salads were served and we opened the recognition portion of the evening by recognizing senior member Harold Lawson for his stedfast support of the National Corvette Museum, The Corvette and CCO, with a framed NCM Motorsports Park Inauguration T-shirt signed by all CCO Members. Next, Joey Stoddard presenting the "Joey" to Lloyd and Carol Johnson for their Spring Bocce Tourney and Luncheon - Best Day Event of 2012! Howard Brown presented the "Howey" to Greg Goodale and Kay Cruce for throwing their 4th of July event - Best Party of 2012! Mike presented his 2012 "Presidents Award" to Georgia Wellons for her diligent pursuit of a successful Homecoming fundraising program in 2012! Mike continued the awards by presenting three special CCO MVP Awards to Susan King for her work year in, year out as Club Treasurer, Jim Stoddard for his continued sponsorship and support of CCO, and to Kurt Chena for his sponsorship and keen volunteer Auctioneer skills that help maximize dollars raised when we auction valuable merchandise and gift contributions! Seventeen additional CCO Member families and individuals were honored with CCO MVP Awards for contributing their time and Corvettes to make CCO's 2012 Homecoming Fundraiser a success! Howard Brown presented CCO's Corvette of the Year Award to John and Barbara Bradham - as their very special '58 Roadster Restomod was voted Member Choice! Then, to finish off the awards program, Jim Stoddard and Don Ianitelli presented CCO President Mike Nostro the "Stoddler" Award for his CCO 20th Anniversary Florida Keys Weekend Celebration. Of all these awards, CCO was most excited and grateful to recognize Mike for this very deserved award.
Dinner was served, and soon the DJ started a Conga-Line to get the dancing portion of the evening underway. Desert followed and the evening progressed fabulously 'till 11:00 PM rolled around - way to soon!
